People often describe Pastor Rob as engaging, relevant, and easy to understand. His communication style is relaxed yet respectful, focused on clearly sharing the message of God’s Word.

We love to sing! Our music blends contemporary and traditional styles to offer something for everyone.

FAQs

What to expect

What to expect

Do I have to be part of the UCC?

Not at all. Many who attend Kapaʻa UCC come from a wide variety of denominations and backgrounds. You’re welcome here—whether you’re new to church, returning after time away, or exploring faith for the first time.

Do I have believe a certain way?

No. You don’t have to believe everything—or anything—in a particular way. We are committed to creating an open space for questions, doubts, exploration, and spiritual growth.

What kind of Christians are you?

We are followers of Jesus who focus on giving life to the community rather than bringing judgment or harm. If you’re weary or discouraged by expressions of Christianity that equate faith with exclusion or hostility, you may find Kapaʻa UCC to be a refreshing change.

Do you really “welcome all, with God’s Aloha”?

Yes—fully and sincerely.
With grace as our theological center, we follow Christ’s command to love our neighbor. We practice full inclusion and welcome all people. We affirm that every person is created in the image of God and is beloved, worthy of God’s love and God’s grace.

“Jesus didn’t reject anyone; neither do we.”

Do I have to believe everything the Bible says?

We preach and teach from the Bible, but we do not read it literally. Our approach engages scripture in its historical context—seeking to understand how it spoke to its original community and how it speaks to us today.

We believe that “God is still speaking.”

Kapa‘a UCC is a place to love, laugh, and grow together. Everyone’s welcome here—come as you are and discover the joy of knowing Jesus in a caring community.
